Matt Eil got his start in the industry at sixteen as a backwaiter at the Gatehouse Restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island. After graduating from Ithaca College in upstate New York, Matt moved to Chicago and worked as a waiter at several fine-dining establishments (Socca, Allen’s New American Café, Crofton on Wells) before returning to New York City in 2008 where he worked at the Red Cat for 2 years. He made the transition to management in 2010 as the GM and Beverage Director for several of the Mermaid Inn restaurants. Matt then joined former Babbo Chef Michael Toscana at Perla as the GM before coming to ŌTTŌ Enoteca e Pizzeria in 2016 as the Wine Director. He became the General Manager of ŌTTŌ in the spring of 2018. Matt lives in Brooklyn with his wife Ariella and his two children, Ellie and Oliver.
