Growing up in Chicago, Elana was fortunate to have parents who were excited about wine and spirits and shared that passion with her. So much so, she wrote her high school Senior English thesis on becoming a Sommelier. Elana moved to NYC to attend Wagner College and after graduation, she became a server at Joe Bastianich’s Becco where she quickly fell in love with Italian wine. After a year and a half of studying with the American Sommelier Association, she went to ŌTTŌ Enoteca & Pizzeria as a Sommelier. A year later, Elana was promoted to Head Sommelier and then took the position of Wine Director in May 2018. Elana is currently studying with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and is a Diploma Candidate.
