Reservations

Reservations are accepted up to one month in advance to the numerical date (not including group dining). OTTO accepts reservations for parties of up to 11 guests. For groups larger than 11, please contact our events  team  at groupdining@ottopizzeria.com.

Wine Events – Winter ’14/’15

OTTO hosts wine classes every Saturday afternoon at 2PM and Tuesday evening at 6:30PM. These educational experiences are hosted at the standing high-top tables in the front of the restaurant (the Enoteca). Each class is approximately 90 minutes. To complement our selection of wines, classes include the chef’s selection of artisanal cheeses and house-cured meats. All classes are led by a Sommelier from OTTO’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic wine team.

January 3rd – Regional: Piemonte
Discover the rich and aromatic wines that emerge from the fogs of Piemonte                  

January 10th – Regional: Marche and Abruzzo
With an abundance of fertile land and scenic coastline, these neighboring regions and their vines have the distinction of being among the most environmentally conscious in all of Europe

January 17th – Ultimate: Wines of the Veneto and Friuli $75
We’re unmasking the structured richness and aromatics from the historic vineyards of the Valpolicella and forested Friulian hills

January 24th – Regional: Valle d’Aosta
The slopes of this Alpine winter wonderland produce some savory wines made from obscure and local grapes

January 31st – Discover: Intro to Italian Wine
A primer in navigating through the grapes and places on an Italian wine list     

February 7th – Regional: Far North: Valle d’Aosta & Trentino Alto-Adige
For wines of great beauty, we look to the northernmost regions bordering the snowy Alps

February 14th – Discover: Wine & Chocolate Pairings *$70*
Celebrate a day of romance with Italy’s greatest aphrodisiacs, featuring special desserts from our pastry chef!

February 21st – Ultimate: On Soil Types *$75*
Delve into the grape’s foundation to learn how the sand, stone, or sediment below affect the character of the resulting wine

February 28th – Wine and Meat: Regional Wine & Charcuterie Pairings
Eat and drink like a local Italian! Our house-cured charcuterie is paired with wines from the regions that inspired them

February 3rd – Regional: Tuscany & Umbria
Visit one of the most famed wine regions of Italy and its neighbor at the heart of the peninsula

February 10th – Discover: Intro to Italian Wine

February 17th – Wine and Cheese: The Basics

Information

Discover Italian Wine

“Discover” wine classes introduce wine lovers to the basics of Italian wine. Wine making methods, Italian wine laws, and proper tasting etiquette will all be touched upon throughout the class.

Wine Regions of Italy

“Regional” wine classes aim to dig deeper into specific regions of the Italian peninsula. As we begin to discover more about Italian wine, certain varietals leave us yearning to learn more. This is an opportunity to pick which region you’d wish to explore.

Wine and Cheese

“Wine & Cheese” classes focus on pairing Italian wine with our the chef’s selection of Italian and domestic cheeses. Food and wine are meant to complement each other at the Italian table. During this class we will explore which pairings are the most exciting.

Ultimate Wine Classes

“Ultimate” wine classes at OTTO are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The wine team takes great pride in sharing some of the greatest— and most exclusive— Italian treasures. Ultimate selections of Brunello di Montalcino, Barolo, Barbaresco and Franciacorta, will find a home in your glass, even if only for a couple of hours.

Class Prices

Classes are $45 per person unless otherwise noted. Tax and gratuity are not included in the listed price.

Reservation Information

To make a reservation for a wine class, email vino@ottopizzeria.com or call the restaurant between the hours of 11AM and 6PM. Please note, if we do not have enough interest within 48 hours of a class, the class is subject to cancellation. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate parties larger than 6.
